“I can confirm I am doing a swim clinic in Galway, Ireland on Saturday May 4th 2019.
The clinic is hosted by the Galway Swimming Club – and I can’t wait to work with the swimmers, coaches and families in that beautiful part of the country.
The clinic will be a unique combination of swimmer development, coach development and parent education.
We do some sessions in the water with the swimmers very much focused on swimming racing skills – dives, starts, turns, finishes and underwater.
But most importantly, every pool session features activities designed to enhance mental skills development – with the aim of helping swimmers to understand how to think like a champion.
My fundamental goal of this clinic – and every clinic – is to teach swimmers HOW to choose to think, talk and act like the swimmer they want to be: to deliberately choose to be exceptional. There’s not a lot of laps – but there’s a lot of learning.
Coaches will enjoy the clinic – but there’s no sitting in the stands and taking notes!!
Coaches work with me and the swimmers on deck so they can learn how to engage, excite and create enjoyable coaching experiences.
We also have a coaching clinic in a more relaxed, casual setting where we’ll discuss planning, programming, creating a successful team culture, workout designs and skills development.
And at the end of the day – one of my favorite activities – a parent education workshop.
