GSC’s young turks perform well at the Tuam B/C grade meet!
GSC’s younger swimmers had the chance to shine at the Tuam B/C Gala, the 2nd B/C gala of the season, held in the Kingfisher, Tuam on 16th November.
With a very successful meet for the club, there were multiple PB’s achieved on the night and two A times achieved from Alison Gibbs and Georgia Megahey.
Both girls made the A times in the U11 100m breastroke event. Alison carried on her success with a third place finish in the B grade podiums in the 100m freestyle.
There were four other B grade podium finishes from GSC on the night with Dominic Matei coming 1st in the U11 boys backstroke event, while Dominic Cahill swam to a third place finish in the U13 backstroke event.
There were further B grade finishes from Alan Shaughnessy who came second in the U11 breastroke event, while Tom Kavanagh took second in the U13 age group.
In the C grade category, there were fantastic swims and podium place finishes from Ailbhe Mulhall (1st, U11, 100 breastroke), Grace Kavanagh (2nd, U11, 100 breastroke), Alan Shaughnessy (1st, U13, 100 free), Chloe Heffernan (1st, U13, 100 free) and Tom Kavanagh, (1st, U13, 100 free).
This brought to an end a superb evening of racing and GSC would like to extend sincere thanks to the team managers Bernice Ruane and Frank Mitchell and the team coaches Gwen Ryan, Niav Ryan, Amanda Mooney and John Keogh for their excellent work and support on the night.
