Great start for Cian and David at European SC Champs…
We’re keeping up with the fantastic progress of Cian Duffy and David O’Sullivan at the European Short Course Championships in France this week:Cian set a new Irish Junior Record in the 200 IM and both Cian and David were part of the Irish relay team with Brendan Hyland and Brendan Gibbons setting another Irish Junior Record in the 4x50m medley relay.This is an excerpt from the Irish Independent mentioning our two swimmers:“The relay team of Brendan Hyland, Cian Duffy, Brendan Gibbons and David O’Sullivan set a new Irish junior record of 1:47.02. Hyland also set a new Irish junior record in the 100m butterfly, clocking 54.73, while O’Sullivan set a new PB of 56.59.
Cian Duffy, competing in his first senior international competition, made an immediate impact when he clocked a new Irish junior record of 2:04.01 for the 200m individual medley.”

“Ireland’s men broke three Irish junior records in this morning’s heats.
Galway’s Cian Duffy was first up in the 200m individual medley and clocked a time of 2:04.01.
Tallaght and NAC High Performance Centre swimmer Brendan Hyland set his record in the 100m butterfly (54.73).
Both Duffy and Hyland were then back in the pool for the men’s 4x50m medley team relay where they set a third Irish junior record in 1:47.02 with David O’Sullivan and Brendan Gibbons.
All four swimmers were making their senior international debuts.”
