GALWAY SC SWIMMERS RACE POSITIVELY AT THE IRISH OPEN!
The Irish long course Open held in the National Aquatic Center, Dublin from the 27th-31stMarch proved to be a superb meet for the attending GSC swimmers who achieved multiple finalist & PB performances over a highly competitive five days of racing.
Senior finalist swims were achieved by James Symons (50m back in a Connacht Senior record time & 100m Backstroke), Maks Kolcow (50m Backstroke) & Ailbhe Mulhall (200m Butterfly).
Junior finalist swims were achieved by Tom O’Sullivan (400m Freestyle & 200m Butterfly), Lauren Sharkey (400mIM), Alison Gibbs (50m/100m Breaststroke & 200m/400mIM), Emma Murphy (50m,100m & 200m Breaststroke), Maks Kolcow (100m Backstroke & 50m/100m Freestyle), Ben Naughton (200m Breaststroke), Aoife Leahy (50m/100m Freestyle & 5m0/200m Backstroke), Ailbhe Mulhall (100m Butterfly), Isabelle Gibbs (50m & 100m Backstroke), Eidhne Kennedy (50m Breaststroke) & David Doorly (200m Backstroke).
GSC would like to congratulate all the swimmers for their fantastic swimming and would also like to extend sincere thanks to GSC officials, TM’s Yvonne Gibbs, Ken Kennedy, Ursula Owens, Tracy Mulhall and lastly to Coaches Seamus & Pearse for all their exceptional support work to the team over a very demanding 5 days of racing.
This concluded a very positive meet for the swimmers from Galway SC as they look to build on these positive National level performances and turn their focuses towards Cranny L3 Long Course meet in UL on May 18th & the Connacht regional championships in June.
