G.S.C swimmers make a splash at the first meet of the season

GSC’s younger generation swimmers made a BIG splash at their first Development (B/C) Graded meet of the season hosted by Tuam SC on Saturday 28^th October, achieving multiple personal best swims, podium finishes and  “A” Grade times.

Leading the fantastic G.S.C swims where A Graded time performances were achieved: Deirbhile Melody (U11 Girls 200m Backstroke), Cillian McCullagh (U11 Boys/200m Backstroke) and John Patten (U13 Boys/200m Backstroke).

B Grade podium finishes were achieved by Marjia Giedraityte (2^nd U11 Girls/50m Butterfly, 2^nd/100mIM and 3^rd/100m Breaststroke), Cillian McCullagh (2^nd U11 Boys/100m Breaststroke and 2^nd/100mIM), John Patten (1^st U13 Boys/100m Breaststroke, 2^nd/100m Butterfly), Erin Smyth (1^st U11Girls/50m Butterfly, 3^rd/100mIM & 3^rd U11/200m Backstroke), Sophie Lally (1^st U13 Girls/200m Backstroke & 2^nd/100mIM ), Vlad Chizhevski (2^nd U14 & Over Boys/200m Backstroke), Emily Wooding (3^rd U11 Girls/50m Butterfly), John Gibbs (1^st U11 Boys/50mButterfly and 3^rd/100mIM) and Tom Healy (3^rd U11 Boys/50mButterfly).

C Grade podium finishes were achieved by Izzy Farrell (1^st U11 Girls/100m Breaststroke), Michael Keegan (2^nd U11Boys/100mIM & 3^rd U11 Boys/100m Breaststroke), Vlad Chizhevski (1^st U14 & Over Boys/100m Breaststroke & 2^nd100mIM), Eoghan Hart (1^st U11Boys/200m Backstroke), Sophie Lally (3^rd/U11 Girls/100m Butterfly), Emily Wooding (2^nd U11 Girls/100m IM), Deirbhile Melody (3^RD U11 Girls/100mIM), Tom Healy (3^rd U11 Boys/100mIM).

Other excellent swimming performances on the night were achieved by Laura Geraghty, Louisa Hussey, Niamh Grogan, Isabelle Doorly, Zainab Rather, Daniel Mitchell & Riain Kennedy.
