Galway Swimming Club Open Assessments

Established in 1930, Galway Swimming Club, has been teaching swimming to the people of Galway for 90 years.  G.S.C. is a swimming club that provides a safe, fun and enjoyable environment for swimmers to develop their skills and fitness, with training delivered by fully vetted coaches qualified to the highest standards. Our aim is to promote our sport of swimming, align it with a healthy lifestyle, while delivering a high-quality experience for all members.  The club’s unique structure allows swimmers to follow either a participation or performance pathway in the sport, helping them all perform to their best.  In addition to pool time, the GSC has Strength and Conditioning classes, stretching sessions, warm-up/cool down classes and nutrition workshops. Each term brings team building fun activities for all squads – bowling, paintballing, water obstacle courses, rock-climbing or a trip to the movies – chosen to enhance the social interaction and wellbeing of all swimmers while also teaching them the value of team spirit and harmony.

Swim Ireland E-Vetting Form

Vetting is part of the recruitment and selection process and is a requirement for certain roles working with young people who are under the age of eighteen. Included in these roles are persons joining a committee. This is required by law, with certain differences in each jurisdiction and is in line with the best practice within our organisation. The legislation together with this Swim Ireland Vetting Policy (vetting policy) means that vetting is mandatory for all members of Swim Ireland, the regions, clubs and any person seeking to engage with certain Swim Ireland accredited courses.
